When a couple loves each other so much, their ultimate goal is to walk down the aisle and spend the rest of their lives together. Seeing a groom look at his bride walking towards him at the altar with eyes full of love is very heartwarming. This is one of the reasons why many people love attending weddings. But unfortunately for some, there’s no “happy ever after” after the wedding. Take the case of this couple from Toboso, Negros Occidental. Bungot Khadafi and Rea Jaranilla Khadafi got married in July 2019 and it was no ordinary wedding. They have no maid of honor & best man, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. Three days after the wedding, the bride passed away.
Rea was an OFW in Kuwait and but went back home in August 2018 because she was diagnosed with gastric cancer. She decided to have her chemotherapy done in her native land. She had her therapy done in a private hospital but it wasn’t able to cure the cancer. Mica Jhai Yago, a relative of the bride posted on social media about the couple and it went viral.
Mica said she saw how Rea went home from the hospital in a hurry because she wanted to get married to her Braddy, as she calls Bungot. She was wearing a white dress even if it’s not the usual wedding that transpires between lovers as they have a different case. She thanked Bungot for hanging on with Rea until her last breath; for taking care of her. Bungot wasn’t able to return to his work because he chose to take care of the love of his life.
Their love story will make the readers teary-eyed. It’s quite seldom nowadays to see a love like this and despite the condition of the bride, both of them were very eager to go through their wedding. They proved the marriage vow, “in sickness and in health – till death do us part”.
